Sweet Valentine Love Poems

1.) “My Promise”

If you were my rose, then I’d be your sun,
painting you rainbows when the rains come.
I’d change my orbit to banish the night,
as to keep you in my nurturing light.

If you were my world, then I’d be your moon,
your silent protector, a night-light in the gloom.
Our fates intertwined, two bodies in motion
through time and space, our dance of devotion.

If you were my island, then I’d be your sea,
caressing your shores, soft and gentle I’d be.
My tidal embrace would leave gifts on your sands,
but by current and storm, I’d ward your gentle lands.

If you were love’s promise, then I would be time,
your constant companion till stars align.
And though we are mere mortals, true love is divine,
and my devotion eternal, to my one valentine.

– Dan P. Brown

2.) “Recreation”

Coming together
it is easier to work
after our bodies
meet
paper and pen
neither care nor profit
whether we write or not
but as your body moves
under my hands
charged and waiting
we cut the leash
you create me against your thighs
hilly with images
moving through our word countries
my body
writes into your flesh
the poem
you make of me.
Touching you I catch midnight
as moon fires set in my throat
I love you flesh into blossom
I made you
and take you made
into me.

– Audre Lorde

3.) “It’s All I Have To Bring Today”

It’s all I have to bring today—
This, and my heart beside—
This, and my heart, and all the fields—
And all the meadows wide—
Be sure you count—should I forget
Some one the sum could tell—
This, and my heart, and all the Bees
d Which in the Clover dwell.

– Emily Dickinson

4.) “ I loved you long before we met”

Life was gentle, there was beauty everywhere, in every moment,
Yet my heart was unfulfilled.

In a world of vast contrasts between good and bad,
I pondered on the notion of love.

My beloved, where are you? I often thought,
I would sit under the canopy of a beautiful tree.
Looking at the night sky….
I wondered if you were also looking up at the same stars,
Wondering where I was……Yet we had not met yet.

Like a warm breeze,
I met you some years later,
All I know is I loved you long before we met.

My darling, your soul fits mine,
Now my world is full of joy,

all I see is beauty around me,
And I know that love is the meaning of existence.

– Unknown

5.) “Exciting and New”

You can’t prove Love in a laboratory
You can’t prove truth, or romance, or longing,
But it’s all a true story, Of how I felt that first morning,
When I met you.

You came into my life and things tipped upside down – in a good way!
My heart slid towards you – like a boy on a see saw – drawn towards you by a force I couldn’t keep at bay,
To LOVE, To really love – for the first time.
Thank you for leading me to share in this irresistible force called Love,
My Valentine.

– John Cole

6.) “The More Loving One”

Looking up at the stars, I know quite well
That, for all they care, I can go to hell,
But on earth indifference is the least
We have to dread from man or beast.

How should we like it were stars to burn
With a passion for us we could not return?
If equal affection cannot be,
Let the more loving one be me.

Admirer as I think I am
Of stars that do not give a damn,
I cannot, now I see them, say
I missed one terribly all day.

Were all stars to disappear or die,
I should learn to look at an empty sky
And feel its total dark sublime,
Though this might take me a little time.

– W. H. Auden

7.) “A Joy I Never Knew”

Have I told you, Valentine,
That I’m all wrapped up in you?
My feelings for you bring to me
A joy I never knew.

You light up everything for me;
In my heart you shine;
Illuminating my whole life,
My darling Valentine.

– Joanna Fuchs

8.) “We Belong To One Another”

We belong to one another, like the body and soul.
You make me complete; you make me whole.
How much I love you is beyond any measure.
You are my wealth, you’re the one I truly treasure.

We belong to one another, like the earth and the moon.
You are an answer to my prayers, you came as a boon.
How do I say what joy you bring and how much pleasure?
No one can discern it because it’s beyond any measure.

We belong to one another, like the waves and the sea,
Because I am a part of you, and you are a part of me.
I now understand what it means to deeply care,
And I know true love is hard to find as it’s indeed rare.

We belong to one another; this is how it is meant to be,
Because how else can I define our love logically.
I cannot describe how wonderful I feel,
But I know true love has the power to heal.

When love is so true and love is so pure,
There can’t be heartache, for love is the cure.
And on this Valentine’s Day, on this day of love,
I give this poem to the one I am so thankful of!

– Joydip Dutt

9.) “Untitled”

i carry your heart with me (i carry it in
my heart) i am never without it (anywhere
i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling)
i fear
no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) i want
no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)

– E. E. Cummings

10.) “Here for Me”

You’re there for me when skies are grey,
You turn them to skies of blue,
You walk with me and hold my hand,
And that’s why I love you.
You know when I need some time alone,
And give me room to breathe,
You let me be who I am,
And you are true to me.
I couldn’t ask for a better man,
You’re all I will ever need.
So thank you once, twice and thrice,
For being here for me.

– Sarah Spoors

11.) “My love for you”

My love for you cannot be measured,
It is as vast as the sky and goes on like the infinite universe.

I see you in the portrait of a sunset,
In the dance of two love birds,
And I feel you living in my heart.

My love for you is seen in my eyes, so tender and full of joy,
You are the reason my heart sings,
And you alone are my sunshine,

My darling, you are my beautiful angel,
Loving you gives my life meaning,
Never before have I felt this way,
I have met my soul mate and I am here to stay.

Every day with you is Valentine’s Day,
But on this special day I would like to say,
Thank you for my love for you,

it brings heaven’s serenity to my soul,
My darling HAPPY VALENTINES DAY.

– Unknown

12.) “Exciting and New”

Roses are red, are my usual beginnings,
But for this card, that’s not good enough.
Today is the day I must step it up,
Only honesty and no fluff.

On this day I must tell you all that I can,
About you and I, and our love.
I truly believe we were meant to be,
We fit together like a hand and glove.

Our touch is electric, exciting and new,
A surprise each and every day.
There are not many things that I know in this world,
But I know I don’t want you far away.

So stay here with me while we ponder this moment,
And treasure this beautiful love.
Never before have I felt like this,
So beautiful and innocent – like a dove.

– John Cole

13.) “How Do I Love Thee?”

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of being and ideal grace.
I love thee to the level of every day’s
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for right.
I love thee purely, as they turn from praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood’s faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints. I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life; and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

– Elizabeth Barrett Browning

14.) “Intoxicating Valentine”

My Valentine, you’re all I want;
In you, I find joy and delight;
You give me everything I need;
I’m happiest when you’re in sight.

I think of you both night and day;
I’m drawn to you in pure attraction;
When you’re not here, I ache for you,
For your fulfilling satisfaction.

I dreamed of love like this, and yet,
I never thought that I would capture
The deep, exciting thrills we have,
This intoxicating bliss and rapture.

Please be my Valentine, and more;
Be my life, my world, my all;
Together we can be content,
And share life’s pleasures, big and small.

– Joanna Fuchs

15.) “Eternal Emotion”

As long as the birds are singing,
As long as the fish can swim,
As long as the sun keeps shining,
I will love you in the bright or dim.

As long as the wind keeps blowing,
As long as the ocean waves,
As long as the stars are shimmering,
You will have my heart enslaved.

As long as time keeps flowing,
As long as the sky is blue,
As long as planets are spinning,
My love will forever be with you.

– Mason C. Ford

16.) “Come Slowly, Eden”

Close close all night
the lovers keep.
They turn together
in their sleep,
Close as two papers
in a book
that read each other
in the dark.
Each knows all
the other knows,
learnt by heart
from head to toes.

– Emily Dickinson

17.) “I Love You”

“I love you all through February,
Not just on Valentine’s Day!
I cherish you when flowers of spring,
Appear in the midst of May.”

“I adore you in the summer,
When the air is filled with heat!
Without you in my life each day,
I wouldn’t be complete.”

“I treasure you in fall,
When leaves are turning gold!
I loved you when you were younger,
I’ll love you when you’re old.”

“I prize you in the winter,
When colder days are here!
I love you, love you all the time,
Every minute of the year.”

“So I’ll give to you this Valentine,
But I want to let you know!
It’s not just today, but always,
That I will love you so.”

– Unknown

18.) “You are the true meaning of beauty”

In a world of desire,
Beauty is often confused with appearances alone,

You reflect beauty in every aspect,
Your face is of an angel and your beauty,
Shines through your tender heart and eyes,

Your sweetness and tender warmth,
Bring joy to all around you….
My life has never been the same since meeting you,

I am a new man, deeply touched by your influence,
You have made me a better person by loving you,

Your heart touches everyone around you,
And I am blessed to call you mine,
Forever and always I will love you,

Till my last breath, all I know that it is because of you,
My heart danced with joyous gratitude through all of life’s chapters.

– Unknown

19.) “Love Is A Treasure”

In a lifetime love is a treasure
And life with you my dear is always such a pleasure
You are so thoughtful each and every day
I never thought life could ever be this way.

So on this Valentines day I do express
You are the best, much better than all the rest.
Thank you my dear for all the things you do
My heart is sincere when I say I love you.

– Catherine Pulsifer

20.) “somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond”

somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond
any experience, your eyes have their silence:
in your most frail gesture are things which enclose me,
or which i cannot touch because they are too near

your slightest look easily will unclose me
though i have closed myself as fingers,
you open always petal by petal myself as Spring opens
(touching skillfully, mysteriously) her first rose

or if your wish be to close me, i and
my life will shut very beautifully, suddenly,
as when the heart of this flower imagines
the snow carefully everywhere descending;

nothing which we are to perceive in this world equals
the power of your intense fragility: whose texture
compels me with the colour of its countries,
rendering death and forever with each breathing

(i do not know what it is about you that closes
and opens; only something in me understands
the voice of your eyes is deeper than all roses)
nobody, not even the rain, has such small hands

– E. E. Cummings

21.) “My Valentine Girl”

I want to give a special Valentine to you,
And I think I’m crushing, if you only knew.

Each day I feel like I’m floating on an endless cloud,
A weightless feather, a soft melodious sound.

As I look into your eyes, your beauty engulfs me.
I feel like I’m flying, soaring, sailing free.

I don’t have things to give, like diamonds or pearls,
But all I want to do is make you my girl.

Happy Valentine’s Day to you, and I must have to say,
That you are the girl that just makes my day!

You’re so sweet, and gorgeous, I never want to part
‘Cause you’re the one that had stolen my heart.

– Dane Lee

22.) “First Love”

I ne’er was struck before that hour
With love so sudden and so sweet,
Her face it bloomed like a sweet flower
And stole my heart away complete.
My face turned pale as deadly pale,
My legs refused to walk away,
And when she looked, what could I ail?
My life and all seemed turned to clay.
And then my blood rushed to my face
And took my eyesight quite away,
The trees and bushes round the place
Seemed midnight at noonday.
I could not see a single thing,
Words from my eyes did start—
They spoke as chords do from the string,
And blood burnt round my heart.
Are flowers the winter’s choice?
Is love’s bed always snow?
She seemed to hear my silent voice,
Not love’s appeals to know.
I never saw so sweet a face
As that I stood before.
My heart has left its dwelling-place
And can return no more.

– John Clare

23.) “Love Is Enough”

Love is enough: though the World be a-waning,
And the woods have no voice but the voice of complaining,
Though the sky be too dark for dim eyes to discover
The gold-cups and daisies fair blooming thereunder,
Though the hills be held shadows, and the sea a dark wonder
And this day draw a veil over all deeds pass’d over,
Yet their hands shall not tremble, their feet shall not falter;
The void shall not weary, the fear shall not alter
These lips and these eyes of the loved and the lover.

– William Morris

24.) “If I could write you in a song”

If I could write you in a song,
I would find where I belong,
Your chorus would be the sweetest melody,

If I could paint a dream so true,
You would be my theme,

Without you, your smile, your touch,
There is no meaning to my life’s song,
For only in your heart is where I belong,

If I could write you in a song,
I’d write about your eyes, eyes that shine like diamonds,
With the love of all creation, embracing your tender heart,

I smile when I think of you,
And when we are apart, I can’t wait to be back in your arms,
And for our hearts to be reunited,
For you are the queen of my heart.

– Unknown

25.) “For You Sweetheart”

This Valentine poem is for you my sweetheart
My love for you will never depart.
May we be together until the end of time.
I would never trade you, not for a million dimes.
With each passing year our love continues to grow
It is more beautiful than fresh fallen snow.
So let this poem be a reminder to you
I love you more each year through and through.

– Catherine Pulsifer

26.) “Unforgettable Valentine’s Day”

I hope you feel Valentine’s Day
is your favorite day this year,
because the first thing I’m gonna do
is hold you tight and shed a grateful tear.

And when night comes, in your strong arms
is the only place I wanna be,
so I can feel the pulse of your loving heart,
which always sets my soul free.

And in that magic moment in time
all I want to know is
that I am yours and you are mine.

On this romantic occasion,
I hope you will feel free to enjoy US this way
and lose yourself, consumed in my love,
making this our own unforgettable Valentine’s Day!

– Linzy Bruno

27.) “I Wanna Be Yours”

I wanna be your vacuum cleaner
breathing in your dust
I wanna be your Ford Cortina
I will never rust
If you like your coffee hot
let me be your coffee pot
You call the shots
I wanna be yours
I wanna be your raincoat
for those frequent rainy days
I wanna be your dreamboat
when you want to sail away
Let me be your teddy bear
take me with you anywhere
I don’t care
I wanna be yours
I wanna be your electric meter
I will not run out
I wanna be the electric heater
you’ll get cold without
I wanna be your setting lotion
hold your hair in deep devotion
Deep as the deep Atlantic ocean
that’s how deep is my devotion

– John Cooper Clarke

28.) “Thank you for being my Valentine”

Your love is like a beautiful sunrise,
In the darkness night, one awakes to the day filled with morning beauty,
All burdens from yesterday are removed,
And your serene, gracious presence remains,
Bringing hope to my heart in all that is pure, noble and good,

Your love is like a sweet piece of music,
Dancing in my heart, my mind, my soul,
In an endless symphony,

Your love is like an eloquent artistic masterpiece,
Timeless, unforgettable and forever cherished,

If I could paint your portrait,
It would reflect the beauty of the rose,

the scent of purity and the heart of tenderness
Thank you for being my valentine.

– Unknown

29.) “From The First Day”

I loved you from the first day,
I laid my eyes on you.
You walked right in and sat nearby,
That was the moment I knew.

The day you picked me up,
And took me for a drive.
We talked and laughed the entire time,
I’d never felt more alive.

As the days began to blend,
Our time seemed to fly by.
I knew it was the perfect time,
I knew you were to shy.

The day I said I will marry you,
I couldn’t believe you asked!
I loved you from the first day,
And will until our last.

– J. Hebert

30.) “Forever Mine”

My Valentine, I love just you;
My devotion I declare.
I’ll spend my life looking for ways
To show you that I care.

Please say you feel the same for me;
Say you’ll be forever mine;
We’ll share a life of happiness,
My treasured Valentine.

– Joanna Fuchs

31.) “My First, My Last, My Valentine”

I’ve never imagined that there can be this day.
A day that love will find its way
Out of my heart and into your soul.
These feelings I have are beyond my control.

All my life I have waited patiently
For a goddess like you, so beautiful, so lovely.
Words can’t express the way I feel.
These feelings toward you are all for real.

You are the reason why I go on.
Eternity can’t separate this special bond.
This heart of mine is reserved for you.
Forever it is yours; this love is true.

I’ll be your first and you’ll be my last.
My world, my everything, till my time has passed.
I will always love you until the end of time.
MY LOVE, MY SWEETHEART, MY VALENTINE!

– Sokea Meas

32.) “Loving You”

Loving you is like eating bread dipped in salt,
like waking feverish at night
and putting my mouth to the water faucet,
like opening a heavy unlabeled parcel
eagerly, happily, cautiously.
Loving you is like flying over the sea
for the first time, like feeling dusk settle
softly over Istanbul.
Loving you is like saying “I’m alive.”

– Nazim Hikmet

33.) “If Heaven were a place”

If heaven were a place,
I know where it would be,
It would be in your presence,
Shielding me from all the worlds harshness,

If heaven were a place,
I’d find it in your smile,
Reflecting warmth and security,
Knowing there’s a place I belong,

If heaven were a place,
I’d find it in my heart, united to yours

You are the lover of my soul,
Your love reflects a place,
That answers my souls call,
To feel the beauty of true love,
My heaven is you.

– Unknown

34.) “Love Is”

What does love mean on this Valentines day
Love is doing more for another than for self
Love is encouraging and supportive
Love is patient
Love is kindness for one another
Love is helping and laughter too
Love is appreciating all you do
Love is sharing interests
Love is a comfort
Love is always there
Love is meant to be shared
Love is beauty in the eyes of the beholder
Love is showing that you care.
Love is you and all you do
Happy Valentines Day to YOU!

– Kate Summers

35.) “Every Day”

Every day with you
is Valentine’s Day, my love.
Every day is filled with romance,
with love, with sharing and caring.
Every day I am reminded
how blessed I am to have you
as my Valentine, my sweetheart,
my lover, my friend,
my playmate, my companion.
No Valentine card,
no words at all could express
how much I love You,
how ecstatic I feel
to know that you are mine.
My Valentine,
every day, I’ll try to show you
that every day I love you more.

– Joanna Fuchs

36.) “Sweet Valentine”

I could watch the sunrise, I could watch the sunset.
I could walk in the rain without getting wet.
I could witness their beauty as the flowers bloom.
I could I could listen to bird songs as the new day dawns.
I could feel the sunshine through the darkest clouds.
I could hear a sweet whisper through the roar of a crowd.
I could walk on water without soaking my feet.
I could travel the world in less than a week.
I could ponder the knowledge passed down by the wise.
I could dwell in a castle built in the sky.
I could paint a portrait and bring it to life.
I could sleep without pain, on the edge of a knife.
I could play a sweet melody to soften the mood.
I could take all the bad and turn it to good.
I could float on the breeze, I could fly on the wind.
I could soar high in the sky, leaving the world behind.
I could travel the cosmos and watch it unfold.
I could witness its power, so wonderful to behold.
But of all the wonderful things I could do,
There’s nothing in the universe that compares to you.
I’ll hold you in my heart for the rest of my life.
You’re my living miracle, my sweet valentine.

– Harry Boslem

37.) “Love”

I love you
Not only for what you are,
But for what I am
When I am with you.
I love you,
Not only for what
You have made of yourself,
But for what
You are making of me.
I love you
For the part of me
That you bring out;
I love you
For putting your hand
Into my heaped-up heart
And passing over
All the foolish, weak things
That you can’t help
Dimly seeing there,
And for drawing out Into the light
All the beautiful belongings
That no one else had looked
Quite far enough to find
I love you because you
Are helping me to make
Of the lumber of my life
Not a tavern
But a temple.
Out of the works
Of my every day
Not a reproach
But a song.
I love you
Because you have done
More than any creed
Could have done
To make me good.
And more than any fate
Could have done
To make me happy.
You have done it
Without a touch,
Without a word,
Without a sign.
You have done it
By being yourself.
Perhaps that is what
Being a friend means,
After all.

– Roy Croft

38.) “You bring out the best in me”

I never understood the meaning of true love,
I searched for it in a myriad of places,
Yet, I remained unsatisfied,

True love is being able to be all I was created to be,
And it is you that brings this out within me,

My soul dances in your presence and my heart is afire,
Burning with joy and devotion to you,

All that the gift of loves bestows, you have given me,
Joy, beauty, peace, comfort, and tenderness,
I found in your reflection,

You allow me to be the man I was created to be,
For you bring out the best in me.

– Unknown

39.) “Always There”

You’re always there for me, Love,
To catch me when I fall.
Whenever I need help, Dear,
You always give your all.

You’re always there with comfort,
Whenever I feel bad;
You’re my sweetheart, and you’re also
The best friend I ever had.

You’re always there to love me
No matter what I do;
That is why my Valentine
Will always be just you.

– Joanna Fuchs

40.) “A Lover’s Poem”

I never knew love until I found you.
Always thought it was a myth until you showed me it was true.
A fairytale story that I thought would never come true,
But all that changed when I ran into you.
Never in a million years would I turn back the hands of time.
Even through all the heartaches and break-ups,
I manage to find a path that led my way to you.
Never thought true love existed until I found you,
And I hope you feel the same.
I see it in your eyes, and everyone knows the eyes don’t lie.
We have our ups and downs, but our love remains the same.
Never will I curse love because I found the true meaning.

– Quinetta Hawkins

41.) “Untitled”

I swear, since seeing Your face,
the whole world is fraud and fantasy
The garden is bewildered as to what is leaf
or blossom. The distracted birds
can’t distinguish the birdseed from the snare.
A house of love with no limits,
a presence more beautiful than Venus or the moon,
a beauty whose image fills the mirror of the heart.

– Rumi

42.) My Valentine, my wife

Since you came into my life, my whole world has changed,
My days are brighter, and I feel there is nothing I can’t do,
There is joy and serenity,
The whole world seems more wonderful and lovely,
I have never felt such a tender, spectacular feeling in my heart,

You are always with me, in my mind,
And I never want us to be apart,
Once in a life time, heaven bestows a gift,
A beauty indescribable,
Felt only in the heart,
To describe this gift, I have no words….to honour its brilliance and my gratitude for receiving it
True love is this gift, and my gift is you,

You are the treasured loveliness, very few in this world find,
On this day of celebrating love,
I want you to know I can trust you with my life,
Thank you for being my beautiful wife.
I love you.

– Unknown

43.) “The Word, Valentine”

When I think of the word valentine and I think of you, here are my thoughts:

V alentine, my cupid
A lways my love will be for you
L ove so true
E nthusiasm for all you do
N ever before have I met one whom I so adore
T rust and honesty we share for sure
I nspiration you give me
N eed you, want you, love you
E ncouragement you give and lots of love for me.

– Kate Summers

44.) “If I Could, I Would”

If I were an Artist, I’d paint pictures of you
Upon a canvas in lovely colourful hue.

If I were a Singer, I would sing you a song,
A beautiful melody to last you lifelong.

If I were an Actress, a starlet of the stage,
I’d play my part with finesse just for you always.

If I were a Dancer, I’d dance all through the night,
Just to be in your loving arms, holding me tight.

If I were a Poet, I’d write you a sonnet
With love and romance upon every line of it.

If I were an Author, I’d write our love story
That would light up the world with star-like bright glory.

If I were a Chef, I’d prepare a tasty meal,
A Valentine’s special for my beau ideal.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

– Beryl L Edmonds

45.) “Another Valentine”

Today we are obliged to be romantic
And think of yet another valentine.
We know the rules and we are both pedantic:
Today’s the day we have to be romantic.
Our love is old and sure, not new and frantic.
You know I’m yours and I know you are mine.
And saying that has made me feel romantic,
My dearest love, my darling valentine.

– Wendy Cope

46.) “Roses Are”

Roses are red
Violets are blue
My love for you
Is oh, so true.

From the day that I met you
I was no longer blue
As I found my true love
It was like the wings on a dove.

You are loving and sweet
To everyone you meet
You are kind and caring
And just a little bit daring

You make me happy
And you can be so crafty
But one thing is for sure
I do love you MORE!

– Catherine Pulsifer

47.) “The True Love Valentine”

Big, pink fluffy hearts could not convey
what you mean to me this Valentine’s Day.
A card with fancy words saying, “I love you so,”
could not capture my thoughts, but I think you know
today just how much you mean to me,
without balloons, fluffy teddies, sentimentality,
or a fancy meal cooked with sparkling wine,
to say that you are “really mine!”

Instead, I’ll gently kiss your lips,
hold your face, caress your fingertips.
Then you will know how much I really care,
that my life with you, I gladly share.
The joys, hopes, dreams will fade away,
but we’ll be together, as we make our way
down through life’s pathways, hand in hand,
with our precious love that is truly grand.

I gaze at you with welling tears.
We have been husband and wife for over fifty years!

– Laura J Sanders

48.) “Sonnet 18”

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate.
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer’s lease hath all too short a date.
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimmed;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature’s changing course, untrimmed;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st,
Nor shall death brag thou wand’rest in his shade,
When in eternal lines to Time thou grow’st.
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

– Williams Shakespeare

49.) “Loving My Honey”

I’m glad you’re my dear Valentine,
A special one who’s really mine.
There’s no fear of growing old
When I’ve got a sweetheart to cherish and hold.

I welcome each day, whether cloudy or sunny,
Because it’s a day I’m loving my honey.
Everyone should have someone like you,
A partner so caring and pretty and true.

I’ll love you till the sun won’t set,
And I thank the Lord for the day that we met.

– Karl and Joanna Fuchs
